Strategic planning

What are your goals?

Do you know where you are going? What is your route? How are you going to get there?

Only your vision can make the difference

We at Bird Luckin believe that Business Life is like a journey. A journey, taking you from where you are now to where you would like to be. We can help you plan your journey.

Where are you going?
The first step must be for you to have a Vision of where you see your business in 5 – 10 years time. Without this your business will carry on from day – to – day without any real direction from you. Outside influences will control your destiny.

Your route
To avoid this, you must sit down and create your vision of what you want your business to be. To help you first talk to your Customers and the Team working within your business.

Your Vision must meet the majority of the following criteria:

  • Imaginable, conveying what the firm will look like when it’s done.
  • Desirable for the interests of the Owners, the Team and the Customers.
  • Challenging, but attainable, realistic and feasible.
  • Measurable, to allow progress to be monitored.
  • Focused, to enable all strategic decisions to be guided with the end in mind.
  • Flexible to allow initiative to achieve goals.
  • Communicable, so that all who deal with the firm can understand the firm’s objectives.

We believe that whatever the size of your firm, creating your Vision is vital.

Once created, you must then turn your Vision into a publishable Mission Statement. This is an extremely powerful tool. It has been proven many times over that the Businesses who adopt this approach will take actions that lead them to successfully achieving their vision. It means that you will not be driven by events outside of your control.

Strategic Planning – The Principle of Strategy
This is your dream for the future – what the business will be like when it is “complete”. It is necessary to keep in mind the long-term dream for the business, the strategic objective, while at the same time, managing the company on a day-to-day basis.

A Strategic Plan is the first step towards moving a business away from being dependent on the owners and towards a fully systematised, profitable operation.

Who is a Strategic Planning Session designed for?
The Strategic Planning Session is designed for the owners and directors of small to medium-sized businesses in any industry sector. It is not designed for anyone below top-level management as it concentrates on the personal and business objectives of the owners.

Your Session Objectives
Your session is designed to get all the owners together in one room to share your views on where you want your business to be heading and what you individually want to get out of your business. This results in the production of an agreed Strategic Plan for the future that everyone can follow.
