Alan Radford - Audit and Accounts Director

Alan Radford

Alan Radford leads the audit and accounts team as Audit Director. Having joined Bird Luckin in 1983 he spent much of his career working in London before relocating to the Chelmsford office in 1996.

And while audit provision is Alan's specialist area, his analytical skills combined with a strong commercial and technical awareness have enabled him to act as an expert accountant in forensic investigations and commercial disputes.

"It's a cliché for a firm to say that we can do everything for you, but with Bird Luckin it is backed up by an extensive and in-depth knowledgebase, which means that we can find relevant and innovative solutions for our clients."

That range of expertise also relies heavily on the continued training of the Bird Luckin team and, as the firm's Technical and Training Director, it's an issue to which Alan believes the firm is rightly committed.

"We want our people to develop their careers with us to become the next generation of Directors but that level of training is also reflected back in the level of skill and expertise we can offer our clients," said Alan, who is a past president of the South Essex Society of Chartered Accountants and now chairs their Learning and Professional Development Committee.

Away from work Alan, who is married to Susana, is a lifelong cricket enthusiast - in his spare time he works as a volunteer cricket commentator at Lords -, travels widely and enjoys French cinema, wine, and gardening at his home in Hatfield Broad Oak.
