Geoff Adams - Consultant

Geoff Adams is well known within the Essex business community, having practiced as an accountant in Chelmsford since 1977. Geoff qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1972 and, before establishing his own practice in the town, spent several years working in industry as a group accountant.
"The time I spent working in industry gave me some experience of working 'in the front line', and it's experience I have been able to put to good use when working with clients throughout my career," said Geoff, a Director at Bird Luckin's Chelmsford office.
Formerly a Partner at BDO Stoy Hayward and Moores Rowland, Geoff joined Bird Luckin in 2001, bringing with him a strong portfolio of largely owner-managed business.
"At Bird Luckin we have got the expertise to provide our clients with advice on almost any issue they may have, but on top of that we are a firm with a very 'hands-on' approach to working with clients, and to building strong relationships with them," said Geoff.
"We tend to grow alongside our clients, to make sure our services meet their needs as those needs change. It is very rewarding to be able to work with clients over a period of time, to help them overcome obstacles and steer them through the more difficult times, and to see them develop and prosper."
Geoff's clients are drawn from a range of business sectors, and vary in size from smaller, family run firms to businesses with multi-million pound turnovers, although Geoff has specific experience dealing with clients in the construction, automotive, retail and yachting industries.
"Having worked with a number of clients in these sectors, I have a greater understanding of the particular issues they face; however, working with owner-managed businesses highlights the fact that while there are specific difficulties in specific industries, the general difficulties that many businesses face, such as the most effective use of their assets, business taxation and cashflow are essentially the same," added Geoff.
Married with a grown-up family, Geoff, who lives in Chelmsford, also enjoys watching rugby and playing golf.
