Jan Atkinson - VAT Manager
VAT specialist Jan Atkinson is one of the latest additions to the team at Essex chartered accountants and business advisers Bird Luckin, having joined the firm in 2008 in a new role as VAT Manager.
Jan is a part of the tax team lead by Tax Director Peter Warren, and brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked previously in both industry and practice.
"I've specialised in VAT for a large part of my career, including working within the international pharmaceutical industry and in UK-based manufacturing, as well as in accountancy practice," said Jan.
"In my most recent role with investment trust company Caledonia Investments, I was involved in providing VAT advice to subsidiaries in a wide range of business sectors including finance, retail, property management and media, including negotiating various matters with HM Revenue and Customs.
"I enjoy working closely with our clients, drawing on the VAT experience I have gained to bring practical benefits to our clients' own businesses."
Jan, who lives in Sawbridgeworth, is based at Bird Luckin's Chelmsford Office, but will work with clients throughout the firm. Managing Director Ian Plunkett, in stating that Jan was a valuable addition to the team, added "The complex and ever-changing nature of VAT regulations means that Jan's experience ands expertise will be invaluable in broadening the range of specialist advice available to our clients,"
