£2.8bn a year 'lost to hangovers'
The UK economy is losing £2.8bn each year as a result of hungover staff, according to research from the Reed employment group.
A survey of more than 8,400 people revealed that workers take an average 2.3 days off every year due to the ill-effects of drinking.
One in three people say that they have taken 5 days off work.
A further 2.5 days are lost as a result of workers turning up for work in a less than fit state.
With the Government planning to relax licensing hours next year, some critics are concerned that output will be hit further.
