Showcase sessions offer free business advice

Hundreds of local businessmen and women from the Chelmsford area attended the town’s first business ‘Showcase’ event recently, held over two days at Anglia Ruskin University.

And Bird Luckin was delighted to be part of the event by exhibiting and providing specialists to offer help and advice covering a wide range of business issues.

Showcase Stand

On the opening day Tax Directors Peter Warren and Kevin Thomas kicked off the seminars with a session on tax planning and pitfalls – an update of current issues for businesses. Peter was also on hand at the exhibition stand later in the day, to answer individual questions.

“This year has been a challenge for many businesses and this was a good opportunity to speak to some of the individuals about the difficulties they face,” said Peter.

And with the growing emphasis on environmental awareness, Kevin teamed up with Matt Sullivan during the Showcase (under the umbrella of Cornerstone MIS) to host a seminar looking at better ways of using IT in the work place to improve efficiency, and save time and money.

Kevin was keen to point out: “This is not all or nothing. We are not looking at the totally paperless office, just less paper – we still have to use it, we just don’t store it!”

Chelmsford Showcase

Over the two days attendees and fellow exhibitors who visited our stand had the chance to enter our prize draw for a Tiptree Hamper, and the winner was Karen Payne, Director of Your Educational Supplies, based in Chelmsford. Karen is pictured (above) receiving her prize from Client Service Director Caroline Peters at our Chelmsford offices.
