Rob Geary - VAT Senior
We are delighted to welcome Rob to the Bird Luckin tax consulting team specialising in VAT.
Rob brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience gained during his career with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) spanning almost 8 years. Rob has not only been a visiting officer, carrying out VAT inspections on small and medium sized enterprises but he also worked in a number of other departments carrying out independent reviews of assessments and managing and training VAT officers, so he is familiar with HMRC and all its procedures. Rob would also be involved with the HMRC business advice open days as a presenter and by offering help and advice to customers. He is therefore well equipped to deal with the VAT issues and concerns that many of our clients face from the potential minefield of completing and submitting the correct forms on time to complicated partial exemption calculations and the new complex penalty system.
VAT is one of the most complicated and onerous tax regimes imposed on business. As a result, many businesses inadvertently overpay or underpay VAT or incur additional penalties and interest.
