Kevin is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, trained as a general practice accountant and auditor before moving fulltime into the tax team.
Having been a part of the Bird Luckin team since 1984, Director Kevin Thomas, now leads the compliance tax team responsible for corporate and personal tax returns and related planning opportunities.
Being a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor, Kevin knows from his own wealth of experience, together with the experience and expertise of the Bird Luckin team, that strategic planning is essential in helping clients to maximise the potential of their businesses.
With specific interest in SME taxation issues including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, National Insurance, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax, Kevin has a particular focus on pro-active planning.
"By working closely with our clients, and drawing on the expertise and experience we have throughout the team, we are able to find the best business solutions for clients - not just on taxation and compliance matters, but on a broad range of business issues," said Kevin.
Kevin is responsible for the IT systems including strategy, forward planning and disaster recovery. He is a well recognised speaker and has spoken at UK conferences on paperless office and advised other firms of accountants in the region. Kevin has an active involvement with Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers inthe City, is a trustee of TaxAid and Chairman at CCH Southern User Group.
Outside of work Kevin, who is married with two children, is a keen runner, having completed both the New York and London marathons; and has also undertaken training courses in brick laying and garden design as part of his other great passion, home improvement.
